Mr. Colwell will give a short presentation of how he came to write the book Sands of Time,  a scientific  adventure and love story set in the slickrock canyon country, and about quantum physics, time travel, spirituality, and extraterrestrial civilizations.  He will relate this to local geology and relevance to where the story takes place in Utah followed by a short reading of a few sections that give the flavor of the writing.

Joseph Colwell and artist wife Katherine own a 40-acre nature preserve and retreat near Hotchkiss and is a retired Forest Service biologist. He has written two books of nature essays and two novels. He was 2017 Artist in Residence of the Dominguez Escalante National Conservation Area south of Grand Junction and will publish a book of essays on that area.
